Fond du Lac’s Saint Mary’s Springs Academy is looking for a new principal. Dr. Julie Shively is resigning as the grades six-12 principal to accept a principal position at a Catholic school on the east coast. The resignation is effective at the end of the school year. Interim System president Stacey Akey thanked principal Shively for her dedication and commitment and says a search for a replacement will begin immediately.
My dear parents, guardians and students:
There is no easy way or good time to say goodbye, but after a tremendous amount of prayer and reflection, I have decided to accept a position as Head of School and Principal at a large Catholic high school on the east coast. Moose and I will miss you all tremendously, for you have become our family. I will miss walking the halls and hearing the laughter and learning spill out into the corridors, while Moose will miss everything about coaching the football players and getting to know so many of you on a personal level. We are so proud to have been a little part of the Springs community.
I do not plan to leave until school is finished and I have tied up all the loose ends from this year. Until then, you will continue to find me in my office, in the hallways or teaching my class.
Your Sister in Christ,
Dr. Julie Shively
