The Fond du Lac County Sherif’s Office would get a new tool to aid in the search for missing persons and various other capacities under a provision added to the the budget by the county finance committee. The committee voted last week to earmark $10,000 from the county’s contingency fund to purchase a drone for the Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff’s captain Bill Tadych says the Sheriff’s Office has used other law enforcement agency’s drones on at least four occasions this year. Tadych says the drone would be equipped for a variety of scenarios including searching when its dark.
