Department of Workforce Development (DWD) Secretary Reggie Newson will visit Mercury Marine, to recognize the Wisconsin-based global manufacturer during its 75th Anniversary year and highlight its partnership with DWD in apprenticeship training at 11 a.m. Monday. Newson says in addition to his Wisconsin Fast Forward initiative, Governor Walker’s workforce investments included additional funding for apprenticeship training. Mercury Marine, Fond du Lac County’s largest employer, has more than doubled the number of its apprentices in the last two years.
