A suspect is in custody in connection with a high speed chase involving three stolen vehicles in Dodge and Fond du lac counties. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s captain Rick Olig says an 18 year old man was taken into custody without incident in Jefferson County Monday. Authorities say in addition to stealing the vehicles the suspect is also believed to have been involved in a residential burglary in Fox Lake where firearms and ammunition were taken. The incident unfolded shortly before 10:30pm Saturday when the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a reckless driver. Olig says a deputy attempted to stop a vehicle traveling southbound on STH 175 matching the description of the suspect’s vehicle. A pursuit ensued as the vehicle continued south on STH 175. The pursuit ended when the vehicle lost control and went into a ditch in Dodge County. The pursuit lasted approximately 11.5 miles. This vehicle was determined to be stolen from the City of Berlin. The driver of the vehicle fled on foot and proceeded to take another vehicle from the vicinity of the crash. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office located the second stolen vehicle in the Township of Oakfield, Fond du Lac County. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office took a report of a third stolen vehicle from the area in the Township of Oakfield. This vehicle was then observed in Dodge County. There were no injuries reported. Olig says it appears the same person stole all three vehicles. The suspect was arrested Monday. Olig says no further information is being released at this time.
