The Republican candidate says his experience gives him the edge in the race for state attorney general. Waukesha County District attorney Brad Schimel is squaring off against Democrat Susan Happ, the district attorney in neighboring Jefferson County in the November general election. “I like her personally,” Schimel told AM 1170 WFDL’s Between the lines program. “This isn’t going to be a personal fight, this is going to be a debate for the public about experience.” Schimel says he believes two issues where Happ is wrong is when she says she wouldn’t defend the state’s voter ID law or the ban on same sex marriage. “She’s got the job wrong. She should run for legislator then because the job of the attorney general is to be the state’s lawyer.”
