BARRON, Wis. (AP) — A five-hour search by land and air located a hiker lost on the Ice Age Trail in northwestern Wisconsin. Barron County sheriff’s officials the 61-year-old woman called authorities Sunday and said she had been hiking the trail near Haugen, but had gotten lost. Sheriff’s deputies, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Bear Lake Haugen firefighters, Washburn County tracking dogs and the Blue Hills Mounted Search and Rescue team, along with a private plane, participated in the search. Authorities say the woman was well off the trail when she was found, but was unharmed.
