9-13-14 obama nominates senator johnson to united nations general assembly

Wisconsin Republican U.S. Senator Ron Johnson has been nominated by President Barack Obama to serve as a representative to the United Nations General Assembly.  The 69th session of the Assembly begins Tuesday.  If confirmed, Johnson would continue to serve as senator.  Johnson has been highly critical of the president’s foreign policy, stating Thursday that Obama’s plan to defeat the Islamic State terrorist group was  “weak.”
