The Fond du Lac County Highway Commissioner says he does not support a proposal by a non-partisan consumer group to halt major highway expansion projects including the Highway 23 expansion between Fond du Lac and Plymouth. The Wisconsin Public Interest Research Group wants the highway projects shelved in favor of mass transit and other transportation alternatives. Fond du Lac County Highway Commissioner Tom Jahnke says that would be a mistake. Jahnke says a lot of time and taxpayer money has already been spent.
