9-30-14 windshield tire fatality

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A passenger in a car was killed after a tire flew off an oncoming vehicle and through the windshield of the victim’s car on the interstate in Dane County.  The State Patrol says the fatal accident happened shortly after 1 a.m. Monday on Interstate 39/90 near Madison’s Beltline interchange. The driver of the car hit by the tire lost control of the vehicle and slid into a concrete barrier.  The victim, a 55-year-old Lombard, Illinois, man was pronounced dead at the scene.
