Dodge County Sheriff Pat Ninmann says she realizes its an uphill battle… but decided to run as a write in candidate after receiving encouragement from supporters. “I’m out in the community quite a bit and I’ve had hundreds of citizens, co-workers, associates encouraging me to do a write-in,” Ninmann told WFDL news. Ninmann lost to sheriff’s sergeant Dale Schmidt in the August primary by just 310 votes. She says her job over the next couple of weeks is to convince residents to write in her name on the ballot November 4th: “I’ve got five kids, two grandchildren. I’ve always told my kids, do you ever give up just because something is difficult? The answer is no,” Ninmann said. “I’ve always encouraged my kids no matter how difficult the task may be you try to do it, you do your best and hopefully you’re successful.”
