The Fond du Lac city council is scheduled to adopt the 2015 budget at their meeting Wednesday night. The proposed budget includes a property tax rate increase of 5.4 percent or 45 cents per thousand dollars of equalized value. The owner of a $150,000 home would see an increase of about $68. The proposed property tax levy of $22.8 million is up from $21.5 million a year ago. Director of Administration Hal Wortman says property tax increases will vary following a citywide property revaluation.
