12-2-14 killer’s release

KAUKAUNA, Wis. (AP) — A man convicted of sexually assaulting and killing a young Kaukauna girl 26 years ago is set to be released from prison.  Vince Fisher was sentenced to 40 years in prison for second-degree murder and sexual assault.  Six-year-old Jessica Miller was found dead on March 9, 1988. An autopsy showed Jessica had been sexually assaulted and a plastic ball had been forced down her throat, suffocating her. Fisher was living with the girl’s mother at the time.  Fisher is now 66 years old and has reached his mandatory release date.   Fisher will stay in a transitional residence in Appleton. He will be monitored by a GPS device. Appleton police say Fisher is expected to be released Tuesday.  Law enforcement officials will hold an informational meeting on Fisher’s release Monday evening at the Appleton Police Department.
