Fond du Lac City Council President Sam Meyer will not seek re-election in April. Meyer filed a notice of non-candidacy with the city clerk’s office on Monday saying he wants to spend more time with his family. “I struggled with this decision for a while. With my business and my family, I’ve got four kids, I just thought it was best to return to private life,” Meyer told WFDL news. Councilmember Catherine Block is up for re-election and recently appointed councilmember Greg Giles is up for election. Giles was appointed to the council last summer when Dan Manning resigned.
