Fond du Lac Republican state senator Rick Gudex says education and property tax relief will be two top priorities in this legislative session. Gudex says how much property tax relief can be provided will depend on how the state deals with a project $2.2 billion budget shortfall. Gudex says he’s confident the senate and Assembly can arrive at an agreement on a school accountability measure. Fond du Lac state representative Jeremy Thiesfeldt is the author of the Assembly proposal. There are some very good pieces of Jeremy’s legislation that are very practical and there are a couple pieces of that legislation that some in the Senate feel need a little bit of work,” Gudex told AM 1170 WFDL’s Between the Lines program. “I think what you’re going to see is a melding of the Assembly and Senate version.”
