On 01-14-15 at 9:46am, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle crash on Sth 60 west of Cth E in the Township of Hustisford. Preliminary investigation shows that Robert McLaughlin (51 years old, from West Bend, WI) was operating a 2013 Freightliner (tractor/trailer) west on Sth 60. Michael Scholze (22 years old, from rural Juneau, WI) was operating a 1999 Toyota east on Sth 60. The Toyota crossed the center roadway line and collided with the tractor/trailer. McLaughlin was seatbelted and uninjured in the crash. Scholze was not seatbelted at the time of the crash and was flown from the scene by Flight for Life helicopter to Aurora Summit Hospital – his condition is not known. There were no passengers in either vehicle. Assisting at the scene was: Dodge County Emergency Response Team, Hustisford Fire Department and 1st Responders, Wisconsin State Patrol, Flight for Life helicopter, Lebanon EMS and Neosho Fire Department. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Crash Investigation Team.
