Two longtime Fond du Lac firefighters have retired and five officers were sworn into office this week after receiving promotions. Fire Chief Pete O’Leary says assistant chief Randy Cunzenheim and engineer Brian Fox have retired. Five firefighters received promotions and were administered the oath of office before this week’s city council meeting. Captain Erick Gerritson replaces Cunzenheim as assistant chief, Joe Maramonte was promoted to captain, firefighter-paramedic Carl Bahr was promoted to lieutenant, and firefighter-paramedic Keith Wendt is now an engineer along with firefighter paramedic Mitch Petersen.
