1-22-15 state superintendent calls on legislators to “hit the pause button”

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin state Superintendent Tony Evers says he fears “more divisive mandates” for public schools are coming, and he is calling on the Legislature to “hit the pause button.” Evers made the comments today at the annual state education convention in Milwaukee, without elaborating on what he meant. His spokesman Tom McCarthy says he was referring to a school accountability bill that Republicans are working on.
