MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A conservative group and its director has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to take a case it brought challenging an investigation into Gov. Scott Walker’s 2012 recall campaign and more than two dozen groups. Wisconsin Club for Growth and Eric O’Keefe on Wednesday filed the request with the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn a September decision by the U.S. 7th Circuit Court of Appeals. That appeals court tossed the lawsuit challenging the probe, saying it belonged in state, not federal, court. The investigation is on hold while a separate legal challenge is pending before the Wisconsin Supreme Court. No one has been charged as a result of the investigation which looked into whether Walker’s campaign illegally coordinated with the Club for Growth and a host of other conservative groups.
