Wisconsin receives mixed grades in the latest tobacco control report card. Wisconsin got an A when it comes to smoke-free air laws and a B for tobacco taxes. But the state gets an F for tobacco prevention and access to tobacco cessation services. Dona Wininsky with the American Lung Association of Wisconsin says the Association wants to see increased funding for the Wisconsin Tobacco Prevention and Control Program. Wininsky says the association is also working to prevent legislation that gives electronic cigarettes exemption from the state smokefree workplace law. Wininsky says smokefree and tobacco-free laws and policies should be expanded to include outdoor spaces, multi-unit housing and college campuses.
