A Fond du lac County man convicted in a traffic crash that claimed the life of a Campbellsport teenager is going to prison. At a hearing Monday Fond du Lac judge Richard Nuss sentenced 20 year old Gilberto Castenada-Bobadilla to three years in prison followed by five years of extended supervision. The judge also ordered six years probation to run consecutive to the prison sentence. Castenado-Bobadilla pleaded no contest in December to an amended charge of homicide by negligient operation of a motor vehicle and injury by use of a vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance. The November 2012 crash on Highway 45 near the South Hills Country Club claimed the life of 19 year old Giovanni Clouse of Dotyville. He was a passenger in a car driven by Castenada-Bobadilla that veered off the road a struck a tree. A state crime lab report says there was evidence of marijuana in his system. A second passenger was seriously injured. The victim’s mother Jennifer Clouse says she is satisfied with the sentence. “I am very satisfied. I think what judge Nuss ordered was fair,” Clouse told WFDL news. The three friends had attended a concert in Madison prior to the crash.
