The Dodge County Sheriff say there are inconsistencies in a report by a man who said he was shot after he had stopped to help the occupants of a car parked on the side of Highway 60. Sheriff Dale Schmidt says the incident was reported Saturday on Hwy 60 between Hustisford and Hwy 26. Schmidt says the man reported two subjects in the parked vehicle demanded the his wallet and when he refused, they shot him with a pistol. He drove himself to the Hustisford Fire Department where he waited to be treated by EMS personnel. Schmidt syas the victim had a “bb” type pellet removed from just under his skin. A crime scene was also not able to be located after an extensive canvass of the area. Schmidt says there are other inconsistencies and circumstances in this report that are still under investigation. Schmidt says the Sheriff’s Office would like to assure the public that they are safe, but to also be aware of suspicious activity. Report any suspicious activity to your local law enforcement agency or the Sheriff’s Office.
