(L-R) Bailey Darling, Dominic Rosado, Kylee Thompson, and Allyson Balthazor.
On Saturday April 11, members of the Fond du Lac High School Forensics Team attended the Wisconsin Forensic Coaches’ Association State Tournament. Allyson Balthazor, senior, placed fourth in farrago out of 47 entries. Farrago is a mix of various literary works, fiction and nonfiction, under a theme. Ally’s theme covered anxiety. Zoe McCartney placed as a semifinalist in prose. Khristy Knudtson, head coach, stated, “I am so proud of our team’s accomplishments this year. Allyson has worked hard to perfect her piece throughout the season and she more than deserves this merit. Additionally, Ally is a team leader and enjoys mentoring her peers. Zoe has emerged as a force to be reckoned with. Her season has been incredibly successful for a first year team member.” Assistant coach Adele Adams added, “Ally has embraced and adapted her piece based on critiques throughout the season. That is not an easy thing to do, but she does it with a smile on her face. Zoe has thrown herself into forensics from day one. Her enthusiasm is contagious, and she brings amazing energy to the team. I am so excited for both of them, and for the team as a whole!” The Fond du Lac High School Forensics Team will continue to participate in fundraising activities after the season has ended. Donations to the Forensics team for travel and tournament funding can be sent to FHS Forensics C/O Fond du Lac High School, 801 Campus Drive, Fond du Lac, WI 54935.
