4-15-15 national telecommunicators week

This week is dedicated to the men and women who act as the liason between the public and law enforcement  when there is an emergency or call for service.  This week has been designated as National Telecommunicators week.  Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt says dispatchers are the first line of defense answering 911 calls, non-emergency calls, monitoring multiple radio frequencies, and using the resources they have to keep law enforcement, fire departments, and ambulances safe while directing them to those who need their assistance.  Schmidt says emergency Personnel put their lives in the hands of dispatchers and rely on the information gathered by our Communications Officers to identify safety concerns, medical needs, and other incident information so that they can respond quickly and appropriately.
