The public is invited to groundbreaking ceremonies this month for a new St. Mary’s Springs Academy pre K – 12 campus. The ground breaking event will be held on Wednesday, April 22 from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. in the parking lot of St. Mary’s Springs Academy High School, 255 County Road K. SMSA interim president Kelly Norton says phase one includes building a 93,000 square foot grade school just south of the existing high school. This new construction will house grades PreK – 5 and includes new cafeteria space, a new gymnasium, and a chapel and tower at the heart of the school. This new expansion also includes state of the art technology integration into all classrooms and learning spaces. Phase 2, remodeling of the existing high school, is scheduled to begin on the heels of Phase 1 and will house grades 6-12. The full project is expected to be completed in the spring/summer of 2016 and will welcome students in fall of 2016. The total project cost is $24.5 million, Fond du Lac single largest capital campaign.
