The Fond du Lac 6th Grade Boys Traveling Basketball Team competed in the Wisconsin State Invitational Championship Tournament on April 12-13. The tournament was hosted by the Great Northwest Basketball League and was played in De Pere, West De Pere, Ashwaubenon and Wrightstown. Fond du Lac competed in the Division 1 bracket which consisted of 26 teams. The 6th Grade Fond du Lac Cardinals played seven games in two days, finishing 4th in the tournament with great wins over Germantown in the Sweet 16 and Neenah in the Elite 8 to advance to the Final Four. Kyle Walljasper was named to the All Tournament Team for his exceptional play and all ten boys contributed to the team’s success at State and throughout the season. The team is comprised of ten players and coached by Jim Sebert and Nathan TeStroete.
