Construction is getting underway on a new $24.5 million St. Mary’s Springs Academy pre K – 12 campus. Groundbreaking ceremonies were held Wednesday afternoon in the parking lot of St. Mary’s Springs Academy High School in Fond du Lac. SMSA interim president Kelly Norton says phase one includes building a 93,000 square foot grade school just south of the existing high school. The building will house grades PreK – 5 and includes new cafeteria space, a new gymnasium, chapel and tower. The expansion also includes state of the art classroom technology.. Phase Two involves remodeling of the existing high school, and will house grades 6-12. The full project is expected to be completed in the spring/summer of 2016 and will welcome students in fall of 2016. “Our enrollment has been growing at a rapid rate – this new campus will help us grow in many ways,” shares Kelly Norton, interim President, SMSA. “We have the ability to create a 21st century educational experience rooted in Catholic faith at St. Mary’s Springs Academy. Our graduates have time and again, risen to the top and go on to serve as leaders not only in our local communities, but across the globe. This new campus will allow us to continue with the traditions of the past and develop future leaders.”
