Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputies will mobilize along with hundreds of other law enforcement agencies throughout Wisconsin to enforce the mandatory seatbelt law. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s captain Rick Olig says the annual Click it or Ticket campaign runs May 18th through the 31st. Olig says too many drivers and passengers are needlessly killed or injured because they were not wearing a seatbelt. Although the state’s seatbelt use rate is at about 85 percent, last year there were still more than 55,000 convictions for failure to wear a seatbelt.
