Public fundraising to pay the balance of a new entry at Fruth Memorial Athletic Field has hit a standstill…but the superintendent says the effort is ongoing to raise the money. The district borrowed from its fund balance to help pay for the $1.1 million project promising to pay the money back through fundraising. To date nearly $710,000 has been raised, but the district has been stuck on that number for over a year with more than $452,000 still left. Superintendent Dr. Jim Sebert and former board member Eric Everson had been leading the Fans for Fruth fundraising effort. Sebert says the district has explored naming rights to the field, similar to Acuity Insurance purchasing naming rights for the High School gymnasium. The superintendent provides the school board with regular updates on the fundraising efforts.
