5-30-15 fdl school district announces acuity grant recipients

The Fond du Lac School District Board of Education recently reviewed and authorized the first Fond du Lac School District Acuity Fund grant recipients. The Fond du Lac School District Acuity Fund supports new and innovative programs and projects proposed by staff members for their students. The District Acuity Fund became possible via interest earned on funds paid to the District by Acuity for naming rights of the Fond du Lac High School Fieldhouse. For the current school year, $21,284 was available via the fund which is held for the District by the Fond du Lac Area Foundation.   The following Technology proposals that were funded with their respective amounts include: Intro to Computer Programming for $3,131.87 submitted by Casey Hoffman on behalf of Theisen Middle School; Stretching the Limits of Learning/EV3 Space Challenge for $3,878.18 submitted by Gillian King and Sarah Ludwig on behalf of Woodworth Middle School; Flipped Classroom for $3,600 submitted by Heather Pagel on behalf of Fond du Lac High School; and Classroom Interactive Whiteboard Technology for $4,346 submitted by Lauren Sullivan on behalf of Pier Elementary School.  The following Non-Technology proposals that were funded with their corresponding amounts include: Sabish Archery Club for $919.95 submitted by Mary Leicht on behalf of Sabish Middle School; Stained Glass Windows for $408 submitted by Barbara Schneider on behalf of Fond du Lac High School; and A Collaborative Performance of Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana for $5,000 submitted by Cory Schneider on behalf of Fond du Lac High School.
