Horicon police say a kayaker drowned in the Rock River in the Horicon Marsh. Rescue personnel were called to the Horicon Marsh shoreline area at the end of Vine St for a kayak accident and located the drowning victim and family members along the shore. CPR was already in progress. Emergency responders arrived quickly in boats and were able to get the victim to shore where he was immediately transferred to an ambulance and paramedics. He was taken to Beaver Dam Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The name of the victimand those involved are not being released pending notification of family. The cause of death is pending, however no foul play suspected.
