MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Republican state Sen. Luther Olsen says lawmakers are “moving closer” toward a deal to end a nearly monthlong budget stalemate, and the goal remains to have a new two-year spending plan passed by July 1. Olsen says the budget committee could meet late this week to pass out the plan, and both the Senate and Assembly could vote on it the same day next week. Republicans have been arguing over roads funding, changes to the prevailing wage law and other issues.
