A busy summer travel season continues as Independence Day getaways hit an eight year high. That according to a AAA survey that projects 41.9 million Americans will journey 50 miles or more from home this July 4th holiday. State AAA spokesman Nick Jarmuscz says over 781,000 Wisconsinites are expected to travel over the holiday. The Independence Day travel forecast calls for the highest travel volume for the holiday in eight years. Most drivers will pay the lowest Independence Day gas prices in five years.
