OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) — A Minnesota company that helps raise money for Republican candidates has abruptly closed its Oshkosh call center, cutting 153 jobs. St. Paul, Minnesota-based Strategic Fundraising Inc. notified the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development of Monday’s closing. In a notice to state officials, Strategic Fundraising said “unforeseen circumstances” had impaired the company’s continued operations and forced the closing without advance notice. The company said it has been trying to raise additional financing and investment, but determined this week that it wouldn’t be able to do so. It’s the third call center shut down this year by Strategic Fundraising or its affiliate, CallAssistant. The other two — in Logan, Utah, and Springfield, Missouri — closed suddenly as well.
