6-1-15 budget-fundraisers

The director of a government watchdog group says its  time for lawmakers to reconsider a bill that would ban fundraising during the budget process.   The co-chair of the legislature’s budget committee postponed a fundraiser last week after criticism over its timing.  Common Cause in Wisconsin director, Jay Heck, says fundraising during budget deliberations has been an issue for politicians in both major parties depending on who is in control.

6-1-15 dot appealing hwy 23 ruling

The state Department of Transportation will get another opportunity to state its case on why Highway 23 needs to be expanded to four lanes.  The DOT is appealing a federal judge’s ruling halting the project between Fond du Lac and Plymouth.   The judge said the DOT overinflated its traffic projections  and a hearing is scheduled today.  Sheboygan state senator Devin Lemahieu says he is still upset that the judge waited […]
