7-1-15 former nfdl high school teacher convicted of sexually assaulting special ed student

A  former assistant special education teacher at Horace Mann High School in North Fond du Lac has been convicted of sexually assaulting a special education student.   As part of a plea agreement 45 year old Dominic Carmona pleaded no contest to one count of sexual assault of a student by school staff and one count of child enticement.  He was initially charged with 14 counts.  A sentencing hearing is scheduled for August 28th.  Sheriff’s detective Pete Vergos testified at an earlier hearing that the alleged 16 year old victim told him that she had sexual contact with Carmona on at least ten occasions.  Vergos testified the girl said Carmona would pick her up at her residence and some of the sexual activity took place in his vehicle while he was driving.
