WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is aiming to get more people in life jackets by installing kiosks that let people just grab one and go at popular swimming and boating locations. It’s part of the agency’s Kids Don’t Float Program. The most recent kiosk was installed Friday near the Lake Wazeecha boat landing in Wisconsin Rapids. The agency’s website says there were more than 100 boating fatalities in Wisconsin between 2008 and 2014. The Kids Don’t Float 2014 season report says all eight victims in 2014 were not wearing a life jacket. The kiosks will remain available through Labor Day weekend or later.
