A Republican state senator from Fond du Lac is defending the troubled Wisconsin Economic Development Agency. State senator Rick Gudex serves on the WEDC board and says he supports the election of Ariens Company president Dan Ariens as the new board chairman. The agency has been plagued by mismanagement and questions about handing out loans without properly vetting recipients. But Gudex says he believes that is now in the past. “WEDC has been on the right track for the last two years,” Gudex told WFDL news. “They have been pretty well flawless in what they’ve done.”
