First responders throughout Wisconsin, such as Milwaukee Paramedic Fire Captain Joshua Parish, understand the critical importance of blood donations for patients injured in traumatic accidents — particularly during the summer months. “Unfortunately, during the summer, we see a lot more serious accidents so the need for blood goes up,” said Parish. “If you have the opportunity, please donate blood.” First responders like Captain Parish could not save lives without blood donors. “Blood donors are a part of our rescue team. They play an integral role in saving lives in the community.” Fond du Lac County blood donors can help patients in need at BloodCenter of Wisconsin’s upcoming blood drives. Donors can schedule an appointment by calling 1-877-BE-A-HERO (1-877-232-4376), or visiting www.bcw.edu.
