9-1-15 sewer problems force closure on western avenue

A portion of Western Avenue was closed for a short time this morning.  Western Avenue near the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office and County Jail was closed until plumbers were able to fix  a blockage in the sewer system that leads to the Safety building.  The problem was fixed this morning.

The Fond du Lac fire chief says he’s proud of the department’s new international accreditation.  The department was recognized last week in Atlanta before the Commission on Fire Accreditation International.  "We always are looking for benchmarks, how we stand up to a national average,  and this particular accreditation is performance based,"    Fond du Lac Fire Chief Pete O'Leary told WFDL news.   O’Leary says the Department scored particularly well […]

9-1-15 hwy 23 crash again raises concerns about expansion project delay

9-1-15 brake for buses

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Children across Wisconsin are heading back to school.  Public safety officials are reminding motorists to be on the lookout for children boarding or exiting school buses. 9-1-15 fdl’s best buy is closing

The state Department of Workforce Development says Best Buy in Fond du Lac is closing.  DWD says aproximately 59 employees will be affected by the closing of the store on N. Pioneer Road.   A store manager told WFDL news the store will be closing October 31st.    The Department says the Fox Valley Workforce Development Board and Fox Valley Job Center will provide assistance to the affected workers.    The […]

9-1-15 grothman presents award certificates to relative of fdl county war hero

A Fond du Lac County war hero who was killed in action is finally getting the recognition he deserves. Congressman Glenn Grothman presented certificates for the Silver Star award to Eugene Burg on behalf of his deceased uncle, Staff Sergeant Herman Burg, of Mt.
