The cause of a fire last week that damaged a Fond du lac home will be listed as undetermined. Firefighters were called to 111 West McWilliams Street and found fire and smoke coming from the upstairs window of the home. The fire was extinguished quickly, but not before the upstairs suffered heavy fire and smoke damage. Assistant chief of fire prevention Troy Haase says at this point fire investigators are unsure what started the blaze. A working smoke detector alerted the occupants and provided adequate time to exit the home. The Red Cross provided assistance to the family. There were no injuries reported.
