8-13-15 ripon college political science professor on sanders’ popularity

While Hilary Rodham Clinton may be the front-runner in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination, a Ripon College political science professor says don’t count out Bernie Sanders.  Sanders has been attracting large crowds during recent campaign stops including about 10,000 boisterous supports at a rally in Madison last week.  Ripon College political science professor, Marty Farrell, says the huge crowds elevates his status.  “This wasn’t the first time he’s drawn very, very large crowds so there is a constituency for his uncompromising brand of liberalism,”  Farrell told WFDL news.  The 73 year old supports raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour and bridging the gap between rich and poor.  Farrell says if Clinton is the front runner Sanders is second at this point among the handful of Democratic candidates.
