A town of Empire man convicted of sexually assaulting a teenage girl may end up spending the rest of his life in prison. Calling the crime despicable Fond du Lac Judge Gary Sharpe sentenced Jeffrey MacMillan to 39 years in prison and 24 years extended supervision. “You deserve this punishment and probably deserve more,” Judge Sharpe told MacMillan. Prosecuting attorney Dennis Krueger told WFDL news the sentence is appropriate. “This is probably one of the worst sexual assault cases I’ve ever seen,” Krueger said. In December MacMillan pleaded no contest to three counts of second degree sexual assault of a child. Six other counts of sexual assault of a child, exposing a child to harmful materials and administering a dangerous drug and a dozen counts of a felon in possession of a firearm were dismissed and read into the record. MacMillan was arrested in January 2014 after sheriff’s deputies executed a search warrant at his home. MacMillan was convicted of sexually assaulting a 13 year old girl in the home.
