Bail has been set at $10,000 cash for a Milwaukee teenager involved in a chase that ended in a crash on busy East Johnson Street in July. Sixteen year old Matthew Hinkle made his initial Fond du lac Court appearance Tuesday, charged as an adult with fleeing an officer and hit and run. Police say Hinkle was involved in a car jacking in Milwaukee, drove the stolen car to Fond du Lac, rammed into a squad car at the North Park Avenue Kwik Trip store and fled. The chase continued eastbound on Highway 23 with speeds of up to 120 miles an hour. Hinkle turned around and headed back into Fond du Lac where he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree. He fled on foot and was apprehended a short time later.
