OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) — Leaders in Oshkosh say a lucrative military contract will have a ripple effect across Wisconsin. Executives with Oshkosh Corporation along with state and local officials Wednesday hailed a $6.7 billion Army contract awarded to build the Humvee's replacement. The award means Wisconsin-based Oshkosh will produce about 17,000 Joint Light Tactical Vehicles for the Army and Marines.

Scott Walker's administration plans to post armed security guards at the entrances to the state Department of Justice's Madison headquarters.  The guards will go on duty beginning Sept. 1. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin collected about $71 million more in taxes during the last fiscal year than anticipated.  The Legislative Fiscal Bureau released figures Wednesday showing the state took in about $14.54 billion during the year that ended June 30.
