A Fond du Lac jury has returned a split verdict against a Fond du Lac man charged in the beating and sexual assault of a Menasha woman. The jury found Daniel Sease guilty on two counts of strangulation and one misdemeanor count of battery, but not guilty of sexual assault. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for September 10th. The charges carry a maximum penalty of more than 15 years in prison and eight years extended supervision. Sease was convicted two years ago in the same case and sentenced to 23 years in prison. But the case was tossed out after Sease won an appeal that he had ineffective counsel during the trial.
