The U. S. News & World Report has issued its national and university rankings and Ripon College was ranked as one of the leading liberal arts colleges in the nation. Such colleges emphasize undergraduate education and award at least half of their degress in the liberal arts fields of study. The College ranked 116th in a tie with Coe College (Cedar Rapids, IA), Hanover College (Hanover, IN), and Stonehill College (Easton, MA). Marian University, in Fond du Lac, ranked 83rd in a tie with the University of Wisconsin-Platteville for Midwest regional universities. Regional universities offer a full range of undergraduate programs and some master’s programs but few doctoral programs.
