Brooke Block was selected as Marian University’s September Veteran of the Month. Bloch currently serves in the National Guard, and has been serving for more than eight years. During her service, Bloch was deployed to Afghanistan for more than one year, and spent time in both Korea and Japan. Bloch is pursuing her associate’s degree at the University of Wisconsin – Fond du Lac. The Veteran of the Month contest, presented by Marian University and Sunny 97.7/96.1 WTCX, highlights one area veteran each month. Each veteran chosen receives a plaque, an appreciation package from Marian University and Sunny 97.7’s sponsors, including a 3 credit undergraduate class which can be redeemed in the traditional undergraduate program or any of adult undergraduate sessions. In addition, recipients are honored with a monthly ceremony at Marian University, and have the opportunity to share their story on the radio.
