A Fond du Lac man convicted of beating a Menasha woman is going to prison. Fond du Lac judge Peter Grimm gave Daniel Sease the maximum sentence of 15 and a half years in prison and six and a half years of extended supervision. In August a Fond du Lac jury found Sease guilty on two counts of strangulation and one misdemeanor count of battery, but not guilty of sexual assault. “Mr. Sease and the victim were in a relationship. She decided to end the relationship and Mr. Sease wasn’t happy about that,” prosecuting attorney Dennis Krueger told WFDL news. “He showed up at her home back in 2011, got into an argument with her in the car and drove her from the Menasha area down to Fond du Lac and on the way threatened her life and savagely beat and strangled her at a number of different locations in Fond du Lac County.” Sease was convicted two years ago in the same case and sentenced to 23 years in prison. But the case was tossed out after Sease won an appeal that he had ineffective counsel during the trial.
