The Gottfried Prairie and Arboretum presents a family friendly, luminary Halloween Hike on October 24th from 7 pm to 9 pm at the UW Fond du Lac campus, 400 University Drive, Fond du Lac. This year’s theme is What a Meal. Come and learn from five friendly characters talking about how they help the environment by what they eat: Monarch Butterfly, Brown Bat, Great Horn Owl, Coyote, and Prairie Dock. Registration will take place at the Gottfried Prairie Arboretum shelter (east parking lot of UW Fond du Lac) starting at 7 pm with the first hike starting at 7:15 pm and every 15 minutes after that. Homemade refreshments will be for sale with the proceeds going towards Gottfried Prairie educational programs. The hike will take place on a trail that is accessible for strollers and wheel chairs. For more information, check out the Gottfried Prairie and Arboretum’s website at http://gottfriedprairiearboretum.org/. The mission of the Gottfried Prairie and Arboretum is to create, manage, preserve, and promote the restored prairie and representative plant communities for education, wildlife habitat, and public enjoyment.
