Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin has announced a green initiative for the upcoming holiday season. Habitat ReStores throughout the state of Wisconsin, including the Fond du Lac ReStore (65 W. Scott Street) will be accepting non-working or no longer needed holiday lights throughout the holiday season. “Don’t throw those old strings of lights away, donate them to our ReStore,” said Paul Osterholm, Executive Director. “We’ll recycle them and use the proceeds to assist low income families in our community.” “It’s an easy way to give back this holiday season,” stated Sara Kierzek, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin, the statewide support organization for Habitat affiliates throughout the state. “Plus, you may be able to take the donation as a tax deduction. And, you’ll be helping us keep materials out of our landfills.” Lights will be collected during regular store hours Monday through Friday 9 AM to 5 PM and Saturday 9 AM to 3 PM
